Davison County Conservation District Drill Operator in Mitchell, South Dakota
Must be able to operate a tractor pulling the Districts native grass drill. Must be able to calibrate the drill to seed various types of grasses, alfalfa, and cover crops. Must have a valid Driver's license and have a good driving record and maintain a good driving record. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Willing to work with individual landowners in a professional, courteous manner as you will be representing the District and should work hard to provide a good impression to cooperators. Be able to work long hours and Saturdays if needed. Ability to read aerial maps is a must. Must be able to do minor repairs to the drill as needed. Schedule Employment for the season begins in the spring when field conditions for the current year are favorable and ends when the CRP grass seeding deadline is met in the fall. Hours of work will depend on workload and weather conditions. Because of some set CRP deadlines need to be met, you may have to be flexible with days and hours of the week worked due to weather conditions. You are responsible for keeping track of your time and turning it into the District Manager. Wages Will be competitive and will be based on experience, qualification and work performance.
