The Navigant Consulting Healthcare Performance Excellence candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in the area of performance improvement within Hospitals, Health Plans or Physician Groups. Specifically, the successful candidate will have expertise in manipulating data using Excel, Access and other spreadsheets, coordinating team work products, and the ability to lead teams.


Works as part of a hospital/healthcare consulting team focused on driving operational improvements in all areas of hospital operations. Provides support and leverage to senior professionals to accomplish targeted improvements. Gathers analyzes, and presents data, including document review and quality control of data entry activities. Strong project management skills including communication and coordination as well as quality checking analytical outputs and deliverable preparation.

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3-5 years of Clinical experience. Advanced degree in directly related clinical field preferred

  • Must have active Nursing credentials (RN/MSN/BSN/DNP)

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience working in an OR/Surgery setting, preferably in-patient/acute care

  • Experience working directly with physicians and other clinical staff

  • Excellent analytical skills – problem solving, financial analyses, basic knowledge and understanding of statistics

  • Healthcare Provider experience and/or previous healthcare operations consulting experience desirable

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Team leadership and deliverable coordination skills

  • Demonstrates proper documentation of work product and coordinates presentations and work products of Navigant team members

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, is detailed oriented

  • Ability and desire to engage in professional client management and project delivery

  • Demonstrates efficiency, initiative, and flexibility

  • Heavy work related travel is required 75%

  • Candidates must be able to work independently, and within team structures

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work

  • Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data

  • Generally works in an office environment
