Navigant’s Performance Excellence practice specializes in large-scale operations improvement, post-merger integration, and business transformation work for academic medical centers and large health systems, community hospitals and large physician practices. Our solutions are tailored with skilled teams to collaborate with client departments on implementing processes and creating efficiencies to withstand changes in the industry. Areas of expertise include: clinical process improvement, labor and non-labor expense reduction and corporate and operational expense assessment.

  • Gathers and presents data, including document review and quality control of data entry activities

  • Assists with engagement administrative functions including communication and coordination of large teams of healthcare consulting professionals, client project teams

  • Promotes collaboration with clinical leadership to facilitate decision-making in an effective and efficient manner

  • Actively establishes and maintains a professional customer sensitive rapport with performance improvement colleagues, the Medical Staff, Nursing staff, staff of all other hospital departments, patients and visitors

  • Utilizes benchmarking to evaluate effectiveness of programs

  • Professionally presents these topics to those within and outside healthcare organization

  • Provides project management as assigned

  • Completes analyses, documentation, presentations and reports as assigned

  • Provides education to other consultants regarding clinical and non clinical performance improvement consulting principles and tactics

  • Monitors and interprets relevant performance improvement metrics

  • Actively establishes and maintains a professional customer sensitive rapport with performance improvement colleagues, the Medical Staff, Nursing staff, staff of all other hospital departments, patients and visitors

  • Assists with sales presentations

Required:

  • 2-4 years experience working in the healthcare provider or consutling industry (Hospitals Health Systems, AMCs)

  • Project experience in provider workfoce /labor

  • Excellent analytical skills – problem solving, financial analyses, basic knowledge and understanding of statistics

  • Advanced data management abilities including manipulating data in PowerPoint, Excel, Access and other spreadsheet tools

Preferred:

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Team leadership and deliverable coordination skills

  • Demonstrates proper documentation of work product and coordinates presentations and work products of NCI team members

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, is detailed oriented

  • Ability and desire to engage in professional client management and project delivery

  • Demonstrates efficiency, initiative, and flexibility

  • Education:

  • B.A. in Business or Health Care Management and minimum of 2 years of experience. Advanced degree in directly related field preferred

  • Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously

  • Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally

  • Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
