The healthcare industry is undergoing a generational shift from Fee For Service (curve 1) to Pay For Value (curve 2) payment and delivery models. Our Value Transformation (VT) practice is responsible for helping payers and providers develop go-to-market strategies and operational plans to transform their business, payment and delivery models to create high value , more sustainable, affordable and high quality services. Experience with over 20 ACOs, including Pioneer ACOs and MSSPs, including managing the start-up for 6 MSSPs
Facilitated over 25 commercial payer/provider ACO contracts/partnerships centered on shared savings, shared risk and performance based payment
Assists over 150 hospitals with CMS bundling applications, implementation and performance measurement
Development of numerous CIN’s, including several regional / statewide organizations across multiple health systems
Utilize our NextGeneration analytic toolkit, with over 1B claims, to provide a wide array of analytics, modeling and reporting services for leading payers and providers to budget and manage margin and total medical cost trend Assists several large providers and payers, including Medicaid agencies, with the design and implementation planning of new payment and delivery models (e.g., ACOs, medical homes, etc.)

This role can be based in any of the following locations: Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL
We are currently seeking individuals with the desire to focus their careers towards consulting and policy analysis for government healthcare clients, with specific experience in managed long term supports and services (LTSS). We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in the following areas:
Involved in case management or care planning for home and community based programs
Experience with state oversight of nursing homes, assisted living or developmental centers
Involved in Medicaid program implementation for rebalancing, money follows the person, or other LTSS initiatives (BIP, ADRC, Care Transitions)
Assisted in developing or administering 1915 (c)(i) waivers
Assisted in developing or administering managed care programs for LTSS under a 1915 (b) or 1115 waiver authority
Participated in stakeholder meetings or other interagency coordination exercises
Experience with leading or managing participant directed service offerings.
Experience working with or monitoring DSNPs or with the dually eligible population
Experience in oversight and monitoring of managed long-term care contracts.
Experience developing or working with quality measurement for nursing homes or HCBS programs
The successful candidate will:
Evaluate impact of changes in Federal policy; determine required updates to state policy
Assist state agencies in the design, development and implementation of healthcare delivery systems, specifically managed long term supports and services for nursing homes, home- and community-based services and dual eligibles products and services.
Research and stay abreast of states’ developments in Medicaid managed care programs and policies, including programs that serve particularly vulnerable populations or cover complex services
Perform detailed analysis of healthcare resources and data sources
Build models in Excel
Prepare Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
Assure quality work product of self and junior staff
Manage junior level staff
Assist with project management responsibilities
Provide team with written and oral summaries of research and analyses
The following minimum qualifications are required for Senior Consultant candidates:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health policy and administration, gerontology, public policy, public health, liberal arts , social work or business administration
3-5 years of previous work experience in the healthcare industry or with a consulting firm
At least 2-4 years of experience working in Long Term Supports & Services Programs at the State level
Prior experience managing junior staff or managing components of a project
Excellent qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to conduct research through use of the internet and other information sources
Additional qualifications include efficiency, flexibility, creative problem solving skills, a high level of motivation and excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Superior written and oral communication skills
The ability to work overtime and travel, as necessary
Ability to work independently, and within team structures
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally
Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
