The healthcare industry is undergoing a generational shift from Fee For Service (curve 1) to Pay For Value (curve 2) payment and delivery models. Our Value Transformation (VT) practice is responsible for helping payers and providers develop go-to-market strategies and operational plans to transform their business, payment and delivery models to create high value , more sustainable, affordable and high quality services. Work in over 90 markets nationally provides us tremendous national experience and local market insight to value based care models
Experience with over 20 ACOs, including Pioneer ACOs and MSSPs, including managing the start-up for 6 MSSPs
Facilitated over 25 commercial payer/provider ACO contracts/partnerships centered on shared savings, shared risk and performance based payment
Assists over 150 hospitals with CMS bundling applications, implementation and performance measurement
Development of numerous CIN’s, including several regional / statewide organizations across multiple health systems
Utilize our NextGeneration analytic toolkit, with over 1B claims, to provide a wide array of analytics, modeling and reporting services for leading payers and providers to budget and manage margin and total medical cost trend Assists several large providers and payers, including Medicaid agencies, with the design and implementation planning of new payment and delivery models (e.g., ACOs, medical homes, etc.)

We are currently seeking individuals interested in becoming a member of an emerging actuarial practice team. Individuals must have the desire to focus their career in healthcare actuarial services, with an emphasis on problem solving, data analysis and policy analysis for government healthcare clients.
The successful candidate will:
Assist state agencies in the design, development, and implementation of health care payment systems and rate setting
Perform detailed data analysis of large health care claims and cost report datasets
Perform financial analysis and modeling of proposed payment and other policy changes
Perform data analytics related to managed care plan quality, payment methodology, rate development, risk adjustment or other metrics related to clinical or financial measurement
Conduct topical research
Provide team with written and oral summaries of analyses
Manage junior level staff
Assist with project management responsibilities
Evaluate impact of changes in Federal policy and determine required updates to state policy
Assure quality work product of self and junior staff
Be willing to spend up to 60 percent of their time performing data analytics tasks
The following minimum qualifications are required for Senior Consultant candidates:
A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, economics or statistics related field - required; Master's degree preferred
2-4+ years’ experience in consulting is preferred
2-4+ years experience working on State Medicaid Managed Care programs and waiver redesign
Excellent quantitative analysis skills and strong data analytics background
Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL), SAS, or other third generation programming language
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to conduct research
Solid written and oral communication skills
Ability to work overtime as necessary
Ability to travel as necessary
Ability to work independently and within team structures
Additional qualifications include efficiency, flexibility, creative problem solving skills, a high level of motivation, and excellent analytical and organizational skills
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
Generally works in an office environment
